The current social bifurcation happening is like a global messy divorce. A spiritual Brexit. We all have had emotional investments in each other’s worlds and that brings up a lot of grief, fear, and anger.

When it feels like the ‘other side’ is getting more of the assets, then there is a push back and a need to fight for what is rightfully ours. In this case, it just happens to be what we have called our freedoms.

Our freedom to speak with feeling and reason. Our freedom to move. Our freedom to connect. Our freedom to breathe the air Gaia gifted us with to survive and thrive. Our freedom to our own healthy choices.

When these freedoms that we took as inalienable are systematically withdrawn and politicized, we are forced into a choice point. We cannot sit ideally by anymore. The question is what is that action? What is the feeling?

That can lead to a lot of rumble inside. It can lead to social friction and loss. It can lead to moral high ground and righteousness. It can lead to civil disobedience or internal confusion. No matter what we are all being faced with choices. Those choices draw lines. Those lines create worlds apart.

So now it is like we are living in the same house with the kids during these proceedings. What world are we going to create going forward for us and them? How do we navigate this divorce and still maintain Love and sanity?

I feel these are deeper questions for each of us to be answering at the core of our heart and soul. What is it that you really need and want from the inside out? What is your sacred purpose in this ongoing, unfolding drama?

This doesn’t have to be a question to suffer over. Just one to explore. One to feel through one day at a time with compassion and with passion both.

Divorces are change. They are a sign of growing and birthing. They are a death and an illumination. This is a time for each of us to truly see and feel ourselves in ways we may have never known.
